Rachel Baker is a British nurse and former owner of an old people''s home. She is currently being prosecuted for the murder of three residents of the care home. Baker, 44, is a registered nurse. She has been charged in with the murders of Francis Hay, Marion Alder and Lucy Cox at the Parkfields care home in Butleigh, near Glastonbury, Somerset. She is also charged with 11 counts of possessing a controlled drug, reported to be morphine. Baker is also charged jointly with her husband Leigh with perverting the course of justice. The Bakers were originally arrested on New Year''s Day 2007 after the death of Cox, aged 97. The police then exhumed the bodies of three deceased residents. The home was closed by the local authorities in March 2007. It has since reopened under new management.
