This research proposes an analysis (knowing that it is embryonic) concerning the change of the strategic political axis of the Latin American left, which after the fall of Socialism in the Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe, puts the idea of Socialism as an alternative to the status quo of capitalism into question. The present work is justified by the fact that in-depth studies are needed to address the strategic change of the left in the continent. The methodology used in the instrumentalization of the research was the historical comparative method taking Latin America as a specific region and the action of the left inserted in its social, political, economic and cultural context. Analyzing beyond the governmental instances, the social and political networks that redefined the political scenario of the region. Pointing out the protagonism of the democratic left in this new political scenario. The central themes of the left - the fight against inequalities, the criticism of the neo-liberal model. Entering the Bolivian and Venezuelan context; critically, to understand the complex events of the region that has always suffered from external - sometimes explicit or implicit - attacks coming from the US.
