It broadcasts on 88.4FM (Previous Frequency 101.6 FM) in Dhaka. It started its official transmission in 11 December 2007. Its programmes include news, bangla songs, English songs, band songs, weather updates, traffic updates and market prices. Radio Aamar is now one of the most popular FM radio stations in Bangladesh. Radio broadcasting is an audio (sound) broadcasting service, broadcast through the air as radio waves (a form of electromagnetic radiation) from a transmitter to a receiving antenna. Stations can be linked in radio networks to broadcast common programming, either in syndication or simulcast or both. Audio broadcasting also can be done via cable FM, local wire networks, satellite and the Internet.
