Diagnosis is arguably the most critical component of all dental treatments and Endodontics is no exception. Endodontic disease can adversely affect the quality of life and therefore early diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up are of paramount importance for all dental clinicians. Radiographic examination is an indispensable adjunct in endodontic practice, however, it has its limitations such as; compression of 3-dimensional anatomy, geometric distortion, anatomical noise, temporal perspectives and many others. The use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in Endodontic practice overcomes these limitations of conventional radiographs. CBCT is a 3-dimensional imaging method that offers the possibility to view teeth and Dento-Maxillofacial structures in any view, rather than the pre-determined 'default' views.
