Qaisar H. Siraj, MB, BS, MSc, PhD, FANMB, is currently a Consultant in Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT at Farwaniya Hospital in Kuwait.  Dr Siraj graduated from Dow Medical College, the University of Karachi in 1977 and later gained his Master's and PhD in Nuclear Medicine from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London (1984 and 1993). He has worked in the speciality of Nuclear Medicine for 38 years (including 32 years as a consultant). His past experience includes ten years as Lead Clinician in Nuclear Medicine with the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust (UK) as the and the Head of the departments of nuclear medicine at the Royal Hospital Haslar, St. Mary's and Queen Alexandra hospitals in Portsmouth. He has worked in many other prestigious NHS hospitals in the UK and at a consultant level abroad. Dr Siraj is a Founder Examiner for the Asian Nuclear Medicine Board, an IAEA expert in nuclear medicine, and has worked on the certification and quality panels of the  General Medical Council, UK. He is the incumbent Editor-in-Chief of the World Journal of Nuclear Medicine and the Founding Editor of the Pakistan Journal of Nuclear Medicine and an Associate Editor of the Asia Oceanic Journal of Nuclear Medicine & Biology. He is the author of numerous refereed journal publications.
