Born in Pisa, Raffaele Rossi entered the Discalced Carmelites on October 3, 1887, and made his profession on December 19, 1899. He was ordained to the priesthood on December 21, 1901, after studying at the Carmelite International College and Carmelite Scholasticate in Rome.
