Sudha Arora, born on 4 October 1946 in Lahore (Pakistan), is a writer. Her higher education was from Calcutta University. She taught in two colleges of this university from 1969 to 1971. Sudha Arora is a popular name in Hindi fiction. Sudha Arora's stories have been translated into almost all Indian languages ¿¿and many foreign languages. She has prepared two collections of autobiographies of Indian women and artists, "Crossing the Threshold" and "Pankhoki Udaan". She is also active in newspapers and magazines at the level of writing. 'Aam Aadmi Zinda Sawal' in the fortnightly magazine 'Sarika' and her weekly column 'Vama' on issues related to women in the national daily 'Jansatta' have been much discussed. His activism and support towards the works continues. A collection of articles 'Women's World vs World's Women' focusing on women is to be published soon. She has been honored with the Yuddhaviram Award by Uttar Pradesh Hindi Institute. This is Sudha Arora's first collection in Urdu, translated by Haider Jafri sayyed a well know translator.
