This book presents essential research skills in rain attenuation for use by research students, planning and network quality engineers. There are persistent problems of rain attenuation in radio link systems and the global standard group (ITU-R) keeps on updating rain attenuation models for terrestrial and satellite radio links for use by network service providers. However, it is agreeable that most of the time rain cell sizes and rain drop sizes in these cells vary from one geographical location to the other. Therefore, whereas there are collective efforts to provide universal rain attenuation models, this book empowers any network engineer and students to develop more effective rain attenuation models based on local rain rate data.
