Valrie Kemp-Davis is the author of exciting culturally conscious literature that celebrates children of the Diaspora and around the globe. Val, as she is affectionately called was born and reared in Tampa, Florida. She attended Warner Southern University, earning a Bachelors of Arts degree. She doubled majored in Communications and English with a minor in Psychology. Her graduate studies were in Criminal Justice Administration where she attended the illustrious historically black college, Clark Atlanta University. Her law enforcement career spans 30 years employment respectively with The Georgia and Illinois Department of Corrections. Valrie is a Silver Star and a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is the mother of two Jamerican daughters, Anastacia and Tatiana. Her love of children has also led her to become a surrogate mother to several children in the East Chicago community who chose her home as a safe source of refuge. She volunteers, teaching creative writing to youth in an afterschool, Love of the Arts program in her community. Val also continues to share her One Love Project to youth in America and Jamaica. Its mission is to help children appreciate cultural diversity. This program give children positive tools to recognize their commonalities and bridge gaps through education, role play and group activities.This platform extols love and respect for every child's individual culture without the exclusion of another's. The One Love Project has been instrumental in cultivating positive self-esteem, and building bridges that lead to inclusion, tolerance, multiculturalism, self awareness, anti-bullying.Children learn to have a healthy appreciation of self and others. Ms. Kemp-Davis is a Cultural Amassador who uses multiple mediums to teach children that they have a moral and civic responsibility to promote understanding and goodwill as they earnestly work towards living peaceably with others. It is her absolute passion, goal and purpose to travel throughout the Diaspora and globe to be a voice and bridge between cultures and children. She has vowed to write, tell and underscore their stories in artistry to bring more light and warmth into the world . Her company, Carradice Collection's business philosophy is twofold; *Collectively We Carry This and *Embracing Culture, Enriching Lives. Her children's books, music and merchandise categorically fall under Anti-Bias, Multicultural, Action & Adventure, Education, Values, and Imagination & Play .
