alene sen is an advocate for literacy and community relations she has been involved in non-profit initiatives for over 20 years she is the author of program without walls: stories from toronto parents a literacy project to benefit community program awareness her work has appeared in various journals and anthologies with features in toronto star, today's parent, and city parent news magazines alene began writing at the age of eight about faraway places, about castles and knights she transitioned to editorials and features after becoming a parent, bringing true-life stories of parenthood to readers of all ages after a shift in life events, alene found solace in poetry; she writes to explore thoughts and feelings and to connect with herself and the world around her when alene is not writing, she travels the world takes photos of random things, treks off the beaten path, and seeks moments to be still
