Autorenporträt
Leslie Hender is a published author and is best described as cosmopolitan. Born in Hong Kong, his father was an engineer, which meant the family was fortunate enough to live in such faraway places as Malaysia, India, Nepal, Germany, and Belgium. Because of his upbringing, he acquired a lasting interest in different cultures, culminating in an extended trip to China, where he taught English for thirteen years and met his current wife, June. Leslie has a unique sense of humour, which is reflected in some of his poems. He is also passionate about the importance of justice and equity, which can also be found in his poetry. Leslie comes from a creative background, having worked as a creative copywriter for many years. After he retired, he and his wife, June, made the decision to settle in Tasmania, where they could enjoy the peace and tranquility, as well as the uniqueness of this very special island.
