Autorenporträt
Masato Sudo was born in Akita Prefecture in 1955 and studied photography at a technical school in Tokyo, where he published a calendar of truckers (long haul trucks lavishly decorated by their drivers) while still in school. In 1979, he encountered a tattoo artist and fell in love with the beauty of Japanese tattoo art and its dynamic human canvas. After having studied under Yasuhiro Ishimoto, an influential Japanese-American photographer, Sudo built his career as a contemporary photography artist and hosted exhibitions domestically and internationally.
