Few rape survivors access post rape medical care services to cope with rape aftermath. This study examined the factors influencing rape survivors access to medical care. The study sought to established the survivors individual characteristics, community structures, cultural beliefs and practices, knowledge on rape and comprehensive post rape care services and practice of post rape care service attendance, and health policy and systems factors that influence access to post rape medical care. A cross-sectional qualitative case study with purposive sampling technique was applied. Primary data was obtained through unstructured interview schedules from twenty five female rape survivors aged nine years and above. Nine key informants and seven group discussions were also conducted. Data was analyzed thematically by assigning codes to contents manually and formed categories. Frequencies were run, done categorical analysis which was displayed in tables, matrices and figures. The sub thematic and thematic areas were presented in narrative, verbatim and discourse analysis. . The study concludes that access to care for rape victims is low.
