More precisely, the purpose of this piece is to introduce you to the man named Raphael Lemkin and his efforts to contribute to the prevention of the worst crime against humanity. The paper provides answers on the questions about Lemkin's motivation and definition of the term ''genocide''. Additionally, the paper discusses Lemkin's influence on the adoption and the ratification of the Genocide Convention by the United Nations.
