Autorenporträt
Donna Thomas was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where she lived with her family. The fundamental value of reading books was instilled in her from an early age. Her mother, Blonnie Thomas, was an avid reader and encouraged reading in their home. Blonnie Thomas often took Donna and her younger brother, Paul, on trips to the Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn Public Library. This is where Donna discovered her own passion for reading books, writing, exploring new things, and executing that newly found knowledge proficiently. As Donna Thomas matured into a young woman and too became a mother to Rayden Avery Thomas, she imposed those same principles, morals, and values that her mother had implemented to her as a child. Donna shared that same admiration of books with her son. Donna Thomas has a master's degree in special and general education and has taught in the New York City public school system for over ten years. Furthermore, she also possesses ten years of experience, encompassing ABA therapy and early intervention services to students with disabilities in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Donna has an awe-inspiring passion and love for adolescents and zealously advocates for personal evolution. It is her philosophy that reading is the fundamental foundation, essential to the professional development that all children will need to succeed in life. She endorses the veracity that reading exposes the intellectual mind to a world of possibilities.
