Esau McCaulley é mestre em Teologia pelo Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary e doutor em Novo Testamento pela University of St. Andrews. Atualmente, exerce a função de professor assistente de Novo Testamento no Wheaton College, em Illinois. É casado com Mandy, com quem tem quatro filhos.
