Instead of church doctrine, they had their 'traditions' or 'oral laws' which were making them lawless. How did Jesus deal with them? His parables give that answer, and I explain that in the second half of this book. I was a senior at a major Protestant seminary, when I was deeply bothered by Church doctrines which were incompatible with Jesus' words. It seems that some of Jesus' words had to be discarded, ignored or marginalized, so the church could embrace Paul's words. Yet the Scriptures say that Jesus spoke YHVH's words with His authority, so how could I accept a doctrine contrary to Jesus' words? I could no longer attend that seminary, so I left because I had to choose between the teachings of the Church and the teachings of Jesus, so I chose Jesus' teachings, and that forced me to make other choices as well....
