Autorenporträt
Rebecca Evens has always loved to travel. She has visited eighty-two different countries, and lived in eight of them. In 2017, Rebecca departed on a two-and-a-half-year trip around the world with her Australian partner, Shane, during which they visited forty-seven countries and 350 cities. It was on one of many long bus rides that the idea for a "Real World Kids" series of books came to life. Rebecca never ceased to be amazed at the children she met along her journey, and their ability to find joy and happiness, no matter their circumstances. Seeing how central children are to communities all around the world, she started looking for a way to share the real-life stories of these kids, from countries around the world, with those in other places. With over ten years of experience in International Marketing, this book series combines all of Rebecca's passions, and she hopes it will inspire kids, and their parents, to learn about each other, and expand their knowledge and understanding outside their own country and culture. Rebecca was born in the remote town of Pickle Lake, Ontario, Canada and grew up in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. She now lives in Brisbane, QLD, Australia with Shane and their one-year-old dog, Kivu (named after a lake they visited in Rwanda during their around-the-world trip).
