This book summarizes the critical aspects of service delivery and why most communities in South Africa are currently not satisfied with the state of local government. Whilst significant strides have been initiated and implemented with success, some of the challenges still remain the priority for service delivery. South Africa requires an open dialogue with communities and citizens towards ensuring inclusive participation and joint planning for success and the future. The time is now to ensure that civic structures are activated and empowered to deal decisively with challenges and shortcomings in the system of local government. The reaction mechanisms, customer care and the application of the Batho Pele Principles have not been measured to test their effectiveness and accuracy but with technological invented systems, there are possibilities for change and advancement towards success.
