The present book deals with Sarah Kane's dramatic text Cleansed to show a specific negotiation of violence, pain, life and death - one that is not necessarily causal or dichotomous. About the author Eric Baudner studied English and German studies at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. The present work was finished with the help of a scholarship within the DFG post graduate program "Materiality and Production".
