J. KENNETH BLACKWELL is the secretary of state of Ohio and an Ohio gubernatorial candidate. His distinguished record as an educator, diplomat, and financial executive has included the offices of mayor of Cincinnati, under-secretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Human Rights Commission, and treasurer of the state of Ohio. In 2004 he was awarded the prestigious John M. Ashbrook Award for his steadfast conservative leadership. He and his wife of over thirty-seven years, Rosa, live in Cincinnati, Ohio.
