Carbohydrate chemistry has received increasingly growing attention in the past year decades. These glycoconjugates which mainly exist as glycolipids and glycoproteins play unique roles in events such as cell adhesion, cell growth, inflammation, and immune response. Glycoconjugates procured from biological sources are often micro-heterogeneous therefore isolation of these glycoconjugates is difficult because they exist in very low concentrations and micro-heterogeneous forms, and hence the chemical synthesis is the most sought after the technique. The synthetic approaches of glycosides from various applications, interactions, and functionalized sugar derivatives. Among the synthesis using N-, C-, O-, and S-linked glycosides is considered as highly versatile that led to a diverse array of interesting sugar derivatives.
