This constant desire of dental profession to achieve a natural appearance, has led to development of various tooth coloured material, one among them being dental composites.¹ Resin-based composites have been successfully used in dentistry for many years and widely replaced amalgam as a posterior restoration. There are many reasons for this relatively rapid and significant change in restorative dentistry.
