Dr. Jitendra Kumar is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, India. He received his B.Tech. from IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad, India, in 2009, his M.Tech from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee, India, in 2017. He has over 4 years of teaching experience and taught subjects like power systems, advanced power systems, control systems, control & instrumentation, power system operation and control, signal & system, power system protection, and circuit & network theory. He has many papers in reputed journals. His major areas of research interests include power system protection and restructuring, Protection algorithms design in smart grid and microgrid environments, and Design of protection algorithms in FACTS environment. His research area also includes protection strategies during power swings. Dr. S. N. Singh (Fellow, IEEE) is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur and has been the Vice-Chancellor of MMMUT Gorakhpur. He has obtained his M. Tech. and Ph. D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. Apart from a receiver of various awards including the Young Engineer Award of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Khosla Research Award of IIT Roorkee, the Young Engineer Award of CBIP, New Delhi (India), Humboldt Fellowship of Germany and Otto Mønsted Fellowship of Denmark. Sir is also a fellow of the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA, Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, Institution of Engineers (India), Institution of Electronics & Telecom. Engineers (India), and Alexander von Humboldt (AvH), Germany. Prof Singh has authored more than 500 publications in reputed Journals, Conferences, Seminars, Short Papers, Invited Papers, and Technical Reports. He has supervised more than 40 PhDs and written two Books on Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution and Basic Electrical Engineering published by PHI. He has also completed more than 30 sponsored and consultancy projects. Dr. Om P. Malik (Life Fellow, IEEE) graduated in electrical engineering from Delhi Polytechnic in 1952 and obtained a master's degree in electrical machine design from Roorkee University in 1962. He received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of London and a D.I.C. from the Imperial College (now the University) of Science and Technology, London in 1965. Dr. Malik worked in electric utilities in India from 1952 to 1961 and spent one year, 1959-60, as a Confederation of British Industries Senior Scholar with manufacturing companies in the U.K. He taught at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, from 1966-68 and joined the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1968. He was acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in 1981, Associate dean (Academic) from July 1979 to December 1990, and Associate Dean (Student Affairs) from July 1995 to December 1998. Presently, he is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary.
