This book presents the Tunisian experience in groundwater rechargeable by treated wastewater (TWA). We have detailed the Tunisian experience in artificial recharge by treated wastewater since the creation of the public irrigated perimeter of Soukra (1956), the experimentation of artificial recharge from TMEs of Oued Souhil (1986) and the site of recharge of the water table of Korba by TMEs for the creation of a hydraulic barrier against the invasion of the water table by sea water (2008). This book presents a synthesis of knowledge on the subject: typology of artificial recharge devices by treated wastewater, hydrogeological and regulatory constraints, health and environmental risks. It proposes recommendations concerning the choice of sites, the technical feasibility and the means of monitoring to be implemented. The concepts presented in the various chapters of this book are prerequisites for several engineering disciplines and will be very useful to operating, design and development engineers, planners, researchers and industrialists.
