Autorenporträt

Bart Barendregt is a lecturer and Director of Studies at The Leiden Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology. He has published and made films on Southeast Asian performing arts, new and mobile media and (Islamic) popular music. Els Bogaerts specialized in Southeast Asian languages and cultures (Leiden University) and classical Javanese dance and music (Yogyakarta). She published on cultural encounters, performing arts, and decolonization, and co-edited two volumes. Currently she is studying the representation of Javanese cultures on Indonesian television.
