Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are dynamic in nature. Due to this, design of an efficient routing protocol for communication between nodes has become more challenging. So, proposed a multipath stable QoS routing along with packet loss recovery for real time multimedia traffic flow in MANETs by optimizing network parameters. Initially, multiple routes are established between source and destination, next the optimal route selection is done based on incoming traffic (real or non-real). Next, traffic splitting is performed for load balancing. Extended work with a hybrid loss recovery technique by combining the proactive and reactive nature of routing protocols to recover the packet loss occurred and also proposed an error correction coding to reduce the erroneous packet delivery at the destination node. The performance is evaluated by allowing various performance metrics like received bandwidth, throughput, end-to-end delay, average packet drop, average packet delivery ratio, numberof packets dropped and number of packets received for various cases.
