Our efforts in this book have focused on providing the network-on-chip (NoC) new functionalities such as virtualization, fault-tolerance and reconfiguration support in a fast, efficient, and scalable manner. One remarkable contribution is the development of a virtualization framework based on NoC partitioning in order to achieve traffic isolation. Moreover, another part of this book deals with NoC configuration strategies able to support faults in the NoC. Obviously, a system enabling these new functionalities will continuously change among NoC configurations. We also propose an extremely fast reconfiguration framework that allows the NoC to change the routing function in a deadlock-free manner.
