A study on the post-cultivation dynamics of vegetation was carried out in the Azagny National Park located in the south of Côte d'Ivoire. To this end, different types of formerly cultivated areas have been compared to forests. The first stage of this study consisted in analyzing the dynamics using Landsat 4 TM 1987, Landsat 7 ETM+ 2002 and Landsat 7 ETM+ 2012 satellite images. in 1987 to 5526.7 ha in 2012. Formerly cultivated areas experienced a regression in their area, which fell from 5813.2 ha in 1986 to 4322.6 ha in 2000. The second stage focused on a floristic analysis which consisted of…mehr

The second stage focused on a floristic analysis which consisted of a surface survey inventory coupled with a traveling survey. It appears that the flora is rich in 620 species distributed between 392 genera and 113 families. This flora is dominated by more than 70 p.c of phanerophytes and more than 50 p.c of trees regardless of the type of space. The high level of endemism, rarity and numerous ecosystem services provided by the PNA indicate that it has highconservation value.
