The rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the knee is the main injury in modern sports, especially pivot-contact sports such as football, basketball and skiing. It is one of the most frequently encountered ligament injuries of the knee and remains the prerogative of the young, athletic subject.ACL reconstruction is one of the most common procedures in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. The development of arthroscopy over the past decades has improved the reliability and reproducibility of techniques using the hamstring graft: the medial rectus and the semitendinosus (DIDT).However, although surgery is recommended for a return to sport, only 60% of athletes return to their preoperative level and 45% return to competition.Among the determinants of return to sport, the residual laxity of the knee after DIDT ligamentoplasty is well known but often neglected and its functional impact on the patient's daily and professional life as well as the repercussion on his or her physical and sporting activity remain underestimated and little studied in the literature.
