Godofredo Daireaux (1839-1916). Argentina. Hijo de un normando que había hecho fortuna con el café en Brasil, Geoffroy Francois Daireaux (París, 1849-Buenos Aires, 1916) se estableció como hacendado en la Argentina en 1868 y en 1883 poseía tres estancias en Rauch, Olavarría y Bolivar. Participó de la fundación de la ciudad de Rufino en la provincia de Santa Fe y Laboulaye y General Viamonte en la provincia de Córdoba. En 1901 fue Inspector General de Enseñanza Secundaria y Normal. Enseñó Francés en el Colegio Nacional. Trabajó en La Nación, colaboró en Caras y Caretas, La Prensa, La Ilustración Sudamericana, La Capital de Rosario, y dirigió el diario francés L'Independant. Su casa fue centro de encuentro de artistas como Fader, Quirós, Sivon e Yrurtia. Daireaux escribió relatos de costumbres y tratados como "La cría del ganado" (1887), "Almanaque para el campo" y "Trabajo agrícola".
