JOANNE L. RONDILLA is a program lecturer in Asian Pacific American Studies in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University in Tempe. She is the coauthor of several books, including Is Lighter Better? Skin Tone Discrimination among Asian Americans.   RUDY P. GUEVARRA JR. is an associate professor of Asian Pacific American Studies in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University. He is the author and coeditor of several books, including Becoming Mexipino: Multiethnic Identities and Communities in San Diego (Rutgers University Press).   PAUL SPICKARD is a professor of history at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the author or editor of several books, including Race in Mind: Critical Essays.
