Cortland Jones is a 28-year veteran educator of the Prince George's County Public Schools system with 10 years served outside of the classroom as a Peer Mediation Coordinator on the middle and high school level that included conversations with teens and parents on the subject of teen dating and challenges associated with adolescent peer relationships. A parent of two older adolescent children ages 18 and 19, Cortland is also a published author and entrepreneur. He currently facilitates workshops for youth as aspiring authors and on learning to T.H.R.I.V.E. in being positive contributors to self, home, school, and community. He has also established a partnership with the Howard County Arts Council teaching youth about cartooning and professional book publishing.
