Araujo, an anthropologist and linguist whose Nekane, the Lamiña and the Bear and The Perfect Orange were both runner-up for the Benjamin Franklin award, crafts this ancient folktale for a modern audience. His reading and writing interests include mythology, folklore, history, and Japanese poetry.
