BettyJo Cost was raised during the 1930's and '40's by a pedophile stepfather, and alcoholic mother. Her two younger siblings were also victims, and yet they never discussed with one another what was happening to them individually. They grew up in a perpetual state of fear suppressing their dreadful secret essentially imprisoned while under the intense will of the predator. The author's life has been spent searching for answers, growing and healing in an effort to free herself from the terror of reoccurring flashbacks and depression which led to bodily illness. Her memoir reveals physical healings, how they were achieved, and how those healings led her to be inquisitive about the nature of healing through prayer. The book lists specific ideas on how parents can protect their children, and lifts public awareness of the dreadful scars left on the souls of innocent children by predators. Her book is a testimony of moral courage; explains in detail how she was led to structure her life, and embrace her own worthiness. It ends with a love story which began when the author was 14, and came to full fruition when at the age of 72, she married her high school sweetheart whom she hadn't seen for 56 years.
