Women are more susceptible to fall-related outcomes since they present lower muscle strength over the lifespan when compared to men. Older adult women can also develop a fear of falling that leads to activity limitation, social isolation, and a reduction in quality of life.Nurses play an important role as health care staff to keep their patients safe in long-term care facilities by providing evidence-based interventions for fall prevention. These interventions include hourly rounding, which informs the nurses about the patient's needs. This initiative will educate nurses about the risk factors for falls and related prevention strategies.
