Produktbeschreibung
Over the last decades, scientists studying the causes and consequences of the greenhouse effect have concluded that human-caused greenhouse gases(GHG) have an influence on climate. Ownership of automobiles has increased significantly in the past hundred years, and the total number of vehicles is predicted to increase to 1.2 billion by 2020. This growth is directly proportional to higher GHG emissions, air pollution and noise, and shows clearly the need for behavioral change in this sector. This book considers the implementation of telecommuting as a chance to reduce GHG emissions from the transport sector. The analysis carried to identify the economic and environmental savings attached to this working method highlights the importance of telecommuting comparing Germany, USA, the United Kingdom and South Korea. The author presents different telework programs and analyzes them under the development of several scenarios, to conclude that teleworking is an economic profitable method for companies, their employees and countries. This book is a gateway to environmental consciousness in a time when the world begins to understand the importance of climate change.
