I have had 25 year involvement in sports officiating; a lifetime interest in sports in general; as a player, team manager, coach, official, spectator, or even as a sports writer. I've been married 58 years, to the same woman; have 2 children, and triplet grandchildren. I served 4 years in the United States Air Force with duty in Korea during the Korean conflict. I am a graduate of Oregon State University with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education. I worked for the Oregon State System of Higher Education as a director of information services in Portland; later at Oregon State as Assistant Athletic Publicity Director, and as Editor of the Oregon Stater alumni magazine. I retired after 25 years as a high school teacher in the Corvallis, Oregon School District.
