The aim of the research presented in this book was to determine the peculiarities, problems and perspectives of the reflection of the Holocaust in Russian theatrical productions and films. In order to achieve the aim 1) the specific features, advantages and urgency of the reflection of the real historical events in the art, in particular in the works of theatrical and film art were identified; 2) a brief historical overview of the Holocaust was made, the basic terms and concepts were defined, the connections with the Russian history were established; 3) the list of Russian theatrical performances and films, reflecting the Holocaust theme, was determined; 4) the analysis of the selected theatrical performances and films was conducted: characteristic features of the plot, ideological concept, characters were identified, the degree of historical authenticity was established, comparison with literary primary sources (if available) was carried out, critical articles and reviews were studied; 5) collective images of Jews, Germans of Nazi Germany and attitude to both, formed in the minds of viewers of Russian theatrical performances and films were characterized; 6) a brief comparative review of foreign and Russian films, made on the Holocaust was conducted,
