Her resume includes eight years as a study director in aquatic toxicology at ABC Labs, finishing her professional career as a science instructor for ten years at Hickman High School in Columbia. Retirement from teaching was followed by growing produce, herbs, and flowers for the Columbia Farmers Market, during which time she also rediscovered her love for art and turned her hand to watercolor painting.
