Dr. Kanu, who is a native of Sierra Leone, immigrated to the United States 32 years ago to further his education. He received his Bachelor, Master, and Doctor of Arts in community college education and speech communication instruction from George Mason University. Dr. Kanu is currently a professor of speech communication at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia.
