This book highlights rural life in Ethiopia back in the 1990s. It describes the social and economic aspects of life in one rural district, Alemaya (now Haramaya. The study was carried out through participant observations, when the author was working at the then Alemaya University of Agriculture. Kebede Kassa Tsegaye (PhD) Kebede Kassa Tsegaye (PhD) is an Ethiopian. Currently, he is Senior Program Coordinator of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation at the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).2015-2019, he served as a Director for Research and Knowledge Management, at St. Mary¿s University (Ethiopia).
