Produktbeschreibung
This monograph is the result of the efforts to improve the existing and gain new knowledge about the forest vegetation and sites in Serbia. Serbia is a country with a low forest cover, which requires new reforestation programmes. Science should contribute to the success of these programmes by redefining and refining the existing reforestation practices. In other words, the problem should be approached in its essence, i.e. apart from the existing forest vegetation, potential vegetation and its sites as well as the selection of taxa for reforestation should be taken into account. This book presents the results of our research investigations of the areas suitable for reforestation in Serbia and the selection of species suited for the reforestation of these terrains. Since in Serbia we deal with ecologically heterogeneous terrains, the selection of species for reforestation is made for each separate site.
