The work aimed at giving a different positive view to the image of refugees often linked to negativity. The work centers on refugees not only being a source of burden but also blessing to the host community.The work covers the North region of Cameroon and give an inside to the factors favoring the influx of refugees in the area but faced challenges that urged them to seek for alternative means of subsistence due to insufficient aid given by the state and some NGOs. To solve these vices, quantitative and qualitative research methods were employed to obtain petinent literature for this work. Through a thermatic and diachronic analyses, we reached the Findings that, both locals and refugees had a pertinent role to play in achieving sustainable development while we recommend that synergy work for all stake holders would yeild a positive output.
