Regenerative endodontics is a treatment revolution in dentistry- the era in which root canal therapy brings diseased teeth back to life, rather than leaving "non- vital" or dead tooth in the mouth. The complete restoration of physiologic, structural & mechanical integrity of native pulp - dentin complex is ultimate goal of endodontic treatment. However, each one of regenerative techniques has advantages and disadvantages while some of the techniques are hypothetical or at an early stage of development. The concepts of tissue engineering, stem cells, scaffolds as well as the biological and clinical considerations of Regenerative Endodontic Therapy will be discussed in the text. The various techniques along with their outcomes, advantages and disadvantages will also be described in detail.
