Mankind is advancing beyond the ability to create inanimate objects, towards the capability of replacing and regenerating our own body tissues. Regeneration is the process of renewal, restoration, and growth. It makes genomes, cells, organs, organisms, and ecosystems resilient to natural fluctuations that cause disturbance or damage. Every species is capable of regeneration, from bacteria to humans. Regenerative medicine, on the other hand, aims to restore or establish the normal function of lost, diseased, damaged, or aging cells, tissues, and organs using a range of approaches which includes cell-based, gene-based therapies and tissue and biomedical engineering. Regenerative endodontic procedures can be defined as biologically based procedures designed to replace damaged structures, including dentin and root structures, as well as cells of the pulp-dentin complex. The dental pulp is very small in relation to human body tissues. The idea of regenerated dental pulp tissue in a tooth has become a common thought among dental researchers. This book deals with various regenerative endodontic methods for regenerating both dentin and pulp tissues to save the tooth.
