Regional disparity exists in agricultural development in Assam, North East India. The present study measures the extent of regional disparities in agricultural development in Assam and examines the factors responsible for them. This book may help researcher in social sciences to have an idea about regional disparities and to use appropriate tools to quantify such disparities. This book may also help policy-makers to adopt area specific agricultural development strategy so as to secure regional balance in agricultural development and boost up the pace of agricultural and economic development.

Dr. Ratul Mahanta is working as a full time faculty in the department of Economics of Gauhati University situated in Assam, India. Dr. Mahanta obtained his Ph.D degree from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2004. Dr. Mahantäs field of interest is agricultural and environmental economics.
