Polymers are relatively new breed of materials. Today they are making a rapid entry in field of concrete. Similarly use of fiber in a concrete is not new to construction industry. Polymers are natural or synthetic chemical compound or mixture of compounds formed by polymerization and consists essentially of repeating structural units. These are molecules of particular organic material linked together to form macro molecules. Fibers are pieces of materials like steel, plastic, carbon, polypropylene, nylon etc. in varying sizes, shapes used as a secondary reinforcing material. Polymer modified concrete consists of polymers used for modifying plain concrete, making it more resistant to adverse environment conditions and improving its flexural, compressive, tensile strength, workability and bond properties along with their other related properties.
