Produktbeschreibung
This book analyzes the relations and working conditions of teachers in the public sector, taking into account the changes - including ongoing changes - in the world of work and their links with education. Starting from the contrast between legislation and the daily lives of teachers, the work examines the construction of careers and working hours in the São Paulo public sector. From the point of view of the legislation, teaching work is structured on the basis of a cellular and individual concept, which allows for the complete flexibilization of working conditions: the working day is flexible; the contract is flexible; the workplace is flexible; working hours are flexible; and pay is flexible. Despite the fact that working in the public sector appears to be associated with job stability and guarantees of "privileged" working conditions, the reality of teaching in the state of São Paulo is made up of different realities, built on experiences according to employment contract, social class and gender. The book is recommended reading for researchers, teachers and students working with basic education, teacher training and Work and Education.
