Despite many advances and innovations in technology, the IT/ITES industry still mostly depends on its workforce. IT industry is considered as one of the largest service-based employers in India. Today, there is a high demand for productive skilled workers in the IT industry. The supply of talented workers is limited because experienced and talented employees mostly find opportunities abroad and the cream of fresh Indian Software professionals from IIT and other premier institutions are often selected by the companies from USA, UK, and other European nations, to work in their countries. These recruitments and selections are done through campus interviews conducted during the last semester of their studies before these opportunities are thrown open to the job market.
